It was a day filled with excitement, cultural discovery, and newfound friendships as the grade 2, grade 3, grade 4 and grade 5 students embarked on a unique exchange program with Wakou Primary School, a Japanese primary school. The anticipation among the children was palpable, and the air was charged with a sense of curiosity as we arrived at the school.

The warm welcome we received from the students and staff at Wakou Primary School set the tone for an enriching day ahead. The students greeted us with smiles that transcended language barriers.

The day kicked off with an introduction session, where students from both schools had the chance to share a little about themselves and their daily lives. Despite the language differences, the universal language of smiles and gestures bridged the gap effortlessly.

The highlight of the day was the interactive playtime. The children engaged in a variety of games and activities, breaking down any remaining walls of unfamiliarity. Laughter echoed through the hallways as they played together, exchanging cultural nuances and forming connections that transcended borders.

Lunchtime was a true feast for the senses. It was a beautiful reminder of the bonds that can be formed over a simple table.

In the afternoon, the grade 2 students had the opportunity to showcase a part of their own culture. With enthusiasm and pride, they performed an Islamic songs, sharing the beauty of their faith with their newfound friends. The Wakou students listened attentively, their faces reflecting a deep appreciation for the diversity that enriches our global community.
